So did I tell you that my daughter is now a working professional?? She graduated from college last year and now is working full time at a Non Profit Organization! In some sense it seems so long ago that she left home to go to college and yet it just seems like only couple years ago that I started this blog to help her make her own food away from home.
Anyway, for her first Christmas party at the office, she was assigned to make dessert for a group of 15. She first said she will just make pumpkin bread and bought a mix home from the store. But then late last night, she realized that one bread may not be enough since she was the only one bringing dessert. So I had the brilliant idea to make my favorite Gluten Free Sweet Red Bean Rice Cake (Tteokppang) – recipe here – in addition!!
Well, the poor girl had to get up real early (7am?) this morning and make the oven rice cake from my recipe with I think was still half asleep…because I kept seeing her stand in front of drawers looking for something but not even asking me where it was. Just standing there.. with a very fuzzy look…
A Christmas party dessert duo of gluten-free oven rice cake and a traditional pumpkin bread. I helped her dress it up a little with some powdered sugar and christmas sprinkles! And then it was so pretty, I had to take a picture or two.. until my daughter yelled at me –
“OK MOM – Can I GO NOW??? I HAVE TO GO TO WORK!”
And I told her,
“Yes, yes.. you can go now..It’s a price you have to pay for me helping you!!”
Oh, The life of a daughter of a blogger…hahaha
No new recipes but just wanted to share some holiday colors with you. I’m almost done with the bungeoppang post so that’s coming next. I promise. Just a little detour — that’s life isn’t it? Always something happens unexpectedly..
Have a fabulous hump day everyone! Hope you enjoy the pictures.
XOXO
