Yesterday afternoon, I was out in the garden taking pictures of my vegetables and was admiring my first crop of golden ripe tomatoes…there were many other fruits on the vine but these were the only few that were actually ripe. I was so happy! I thought about picking and eating them for dinner but I decided not to, saying to myself ‘Nah.. I’ll save them for later’. BIG MISTAKE!!!
When I was uploading the pictures this morning, I was not too happy with the lighting on this picture so I went out to my garden to take another shot of these beautiful little jewels. But NOoooooo….I couldn’t find them anywhere! There were all gone and the plant had been all disrupted. So sad 🙁 .Who could it be? Then I knew..I know who ate my tomatoes! Although I have no absolute proof, I’m quite sure I know who it is. What else could it be but our very cute, very smart but also very mischievous little dog – Coco. Sigh..I should have known. She woke me up last night wanting to go outside (around 1am?) and then I remember letting her in and thinking (half asleep) ‘she’s been out a long time… what has she been up to?? ‘ And then I heard her make these slurping noises -‘she must have eaten something..’ and then I fell asleep.
Well..now I’m going to have to come up with a way to protect my veggies not from squirrels or any other animals but from my own dog! So here’s a picture of her the other day when I was late in giving her dinner. Oh, the poor girl. Someone might think I’m starving her.
