Good morning! (at least where I am, it’s still morning.. 😉 )
In case you are wondering.. I’m doing great! Thank you for wondering!!
I have been just really busy with a lot of things and I was feeling bad that I have not posted for over a week, I thought I would write up a quick update first. I somehow feel very disconnected whenever I go for a long time without a post – is it just me? Tell me it ain’t so… 😍 ❤️..
Although I have many things in the works, life and other things somehow keeps interrupting my flow.
First, some exciting news! I am going to be on TV!! Well, not on national TV haha.. but on local Korean TV station called YTV America. They have contacted me to ask if I was willing to be part of their 3 part documentary on Korean Food in America. I was hesitant at first (cause you know I am very camera shy, I just don’t like seeing my face on screens..) but I decided to go for it! Once it is aired on 7/10th, they said it would also be available online on their website.
Boy, the whole thing was quite an ordeal, preparing my whole house for the cameras, also preparing a cooking session with my friend Judith for them to film.. (Thank you Judith for coming!). But I think it went OK. I just hope my face will not come out too big and take up the whole screen!! YIKES! HAHAHA
Judith and I have also been working on an ebook on Salt with an emphasis on Korean salt. We have done taste tests on 10 different salts (Korean, French, Himalayan..), measured salinity of each different salt, and even compared mass vs volume to see how the amount of 1 Tbs differs for each salt. I decided to do this because I realized salt is such an important part of Korean cooking. This was and is a lot of work but I am excited!!
In terms of recipes, I will be posting Omurice (this week), Cucumber Kimchi, Bukumi (Korean pan-fried sweet rice cake stuffed with sweet red beans) very soon. So please stay tuned and enjoy these pics I took of my garden this spring.
Till then be well my friends!
