Isn’t he just adorable?!! His name is Pepe. He is a 21 year old lipizzan, quarter horse mix. He gave my daughter quite a challenge in the beginning but he also taught her so much about not giving up, learning to enjoy the process and not getting too caught up in trying to reach your goal.. all those important life lessons.
I know this post is not about food but some people have asked me to share about other areas of my life that’s kind of unusual for a Korean family and so.. here it is. Well, my daughter inherited my love for horses and what just started out as week long riding camp just in the summer, eventually turned into a full dressage riding passion where she was riding almost everyday – rain or shine. Although we don’t own Pepe anymore, we still get to visit him and my daughter can still ride him when she comes home. It’s been few months since I saw Pepe and so I decided to visit the barn yesterday – to see him and also to hike the back trails of the farm. I was so happy to hear him nicker as I approached the stall. I did have carrots in my hand so that could have been why…but anyway… what a handsome boy!
Not sure what these flowers are… they kind of looked like mustard flowers but I didn’t know they could grow this tall! They were taller than me.. The blue sky and the yellow flowers was just picture perfect! What a wonderful way to start our walk..
During our walk (I went with a friend), we saw this butterfly flying around us. I kind of said “Oh, please land somewhere so I can take a picture!” The butterfly not only landed on this branch but waited very patiently while I was fussing with my camera, trying to get everything right. My friend commented that it was almost as if the butterfly was posing and waiting for me to take the picture. Thank you, butterfly!
